About Access Interpreting

Mission Statement:

We are a communication access service provider solely invested in enriching the quality of life of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. We strive to further linguistic and social equality for the signing community through our industry best practices, professional development and community involvement.

Access Interpreting was established in 2007 by Brad Leon, Lyle Vold and Ryan Leon. All three owners grew up in the Deaf community of the Washington, DC metro area. Since its inception, AI has worked tirelessly to establish itself as provider of high quality interpretation services in and around DC.

The AI family has grown quite a bit since 2007! We now employ a support staff and several core staff interpreters, and work with hundreds of freelance interpreters, CART writers and sign models.

The current staff is made up of members of the Deaf community, consumers of interpreting services, and interpreters themselves. Thus, we have a thorough understanding of the sign language interpreting in the Washington, DC Metropolitian area from multiple perspectives, and all work diligently to ensure the utmost satisfaction of anyone with whom we work.
